Hi everyone! Thanks for popping in! I am a residential painting company specializing in custom color design and paint for interiors, exteriors, wallpaper removal, power washing, deck and fence staining/painting, masonry cleaning, painting and staining, garage floors, furniture and much more, just ask!
We are a fully licensed, insured and certified lead based paint removal and repaint contractor. I hate seeing these beautiful, old Portland homes being bull dozed and replaced with poorly built, ugly multi unit atrocities. I am extremely disappointed in Portland for allowing this to happen; all for greed! So all I could do was to certify the company and try to save as many of these buildings as I can and try to convince people that, even with the most excellent of builders, any new construction will pale in comparison to the fine craftsmanship that went in to building these antique beauties. I am privileged to be able to work on and save some of these amazing structures and pray they'll last another 100 years and not have some developer come in and rip them down! LONG LIVE THE CRAFTSMAN!
I have 4 bunnies Sunshine, Princess Moonbow, Rexy and MONSTER, 1 guinea pig, her name is "M" and my dog, Bear, a blind Australian Shepherd, all rescues. The bunnieS came home to Portland with me nearly 4 years ago from Maui. It took 2 1/2 years to negotiate with Alaska Airlines to change their policies on the number of animals that could come on board and also the type of animal; rabbits are considered "livestock" in most cases. I bought the entire back row of the plane and each bunny had their own seat! I didn't want someones feet next to them! I had traveled home to Portland with 5 bunny's, but lost my Alice about 2 years ago now. The guinea pig had come with a partner, she was the other "M" and they came along a few months later, together they were "M & M", saved from certain horrible death likely to be bait animals or snake food. We lost our one "M" going on a year ago now.
I never intended for LET CAROLYN PAINT IT! Inc. to grow as it has; it was not ever my intention, but it has! Not without some pretty expensive and horrible lessons, but I managed to pull through and continue to grow. At the beginning of Summer 2017, I opened a new division to the company GET THE LEAD OUT!, Inc. and try to preserve the lovely old structures of Portland.
As many of you know, my goal in all of this was to open my retail store again, Petunia's Place. This will be my "retirement" project. I am 51 years old and have only a few years of this type of physical work left in my body. During this time, my goal is 3 fold; to grow the painting company, build solid animal loving crews, help as many homeless and abused animals as possible and to raise the funds to re-open the store, Petunia’s Place. (I am currently looking for a space in the Sellwood area, if you know of any, PLEASE let me know!) It will be a retail store with low to high end gifts and fine collectibles, jewelry and art work, both from local artists and from around the globe. 25% of all profit will be donated to benefit animal welfare, create new laws to enforce stiffer penalties for animal abusers and to support the salaries of more animal control officers to go out, investigate and arrest these horrible, horrible people.
It's been an amazing 2 years so far Portland! And your support has enabled this little company to donate tens of thousands of dollars and save countless lives of innocent, loving, beautiful creatures! No words could ever impart the gratitude I feel. Thank you Portland for your support!
